I have just purchased a steering wheel and pedals. They work ok under test in control panel, they are selected in PTTM as the controls but absolutely nothing happens, no accelerator no steering no nothing. Any ideas please. My wheel is Blue Lightning Racing Wheel for both PC and playstation and I have definitely got PC selected.
I am stuck now being a real computer dummy.

Are you able to select the wheel under control options or not? if you can, it will just be something stupid. I'll send a screenshot of my settings later on msn, if you don't have the option of picking it on control options, then its not supported i'm afraid

Hello Jim , I got it ok in Control panel and it seems to work OK under test but does absolutely nothing in game, even tried a joystick whick works oK in Flightsim but only steers in PTTM. I got no accelerator at all with Joystick. The only way of driving that works is using keyboard.

Just my luck, it looks like PTTM is not going to work on anything but the keyboard for me. Was a waste of my money buying a steering wheel. It works on PS2 but I don't play any driving games on there I just borrowed one to test it

Go into the options/controls to set the wheel. 1.There is a drop down window next to controller (Make sure your wheel is attached before starting game) find your wheel. 2. If you have separate pedals make sure this box is not ticked. 3.set the axis for the wheel & pedals. 4. If still not working adjust the control buttons by clicking on them and them moving wheel or pedal you wish to assign.(then try stage 3. again) 5.You can assign these keyboard buttons to any spare buttons on your wheel.

Thanks Radar I did say I was a computer dummy. I do not know I had to set the AXis things Only trouble now is it will not go very fast I don't seem to be able to go faster than 15 MPH and no better than 2nd gear, tried auto transmission on and off but still not able to pick up any speed. I know I must be doing something wrong, but not sure what Thanks again Bill

press the space bar (the long one in the middle of the keyboard) and it will release the parking brake.

Sorry but parking brake is off when I start but for some weird reason when I turn a sharpish corner it comes on or at least I get tire marks left on the road and my top speed is 25 MPH in 3rd gear. If I try to go into 4th gear it slows right down to a virtual stop. Sorry if I am making a nuisance of myself.
Thanks

check and uncheck the axis mode as it seems that the brakes are coming on with the movement of the wheel.
if that does not work try resetting the buttons making sure not to touch any others at the same time.

Hope I not got a faulty steering wheel because it works great on the keyboard so the key settings must be Ok but something weird going on with pedals and steering wheel. Wish I had another driving game to check it out on.

Got it sorted out now Thanks very much. I got my computer expert friend to come and look at it and where I thought I was following your advice I was following it wrong . All I need to do now is fix the wheel and pedals in a good position and learn to drive safely ;D Then no doubt I will be mivering for my own truck when I go owner operator, only need $15000 now. Bill
