I seem to have lost the EX file or start up file if that is what it is called for PTTM. Any ideas or suggestions please. Thanks

1st thing try start/all programmes/18 WoS Pedal to the Metal/Configure Graphics Options.
2nd go to "C:\Program Files\18 WoS Pedal to the Metal\pttm.exe" & try running it from there. If succeseful, right click on the exe & drag it to your desktop & create another shortcut.
If it still will not start from there then "sorry" but you will have to reinstall the game. Don't worry about any mods you have added to the extracted base.scs in my documents as the documents folder does not get deleted. But you can rename it "18 WoS Pedal to the Metal1" just to make sure.

Not to sure how good you are with computers. The download should not be a problem as they have your details.
When you have your new copy save it to disc along with the file in My computer/C:/Documents & settings/All users/application data/ called trymedia. (also keep a note of its location) Now the tricky bit, go to start/run & type in "regedit" with out the " then enter this will bring up your registry open the file HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/software & look for the trymedia systems folder & copy the one with the PTTM info do the same with the value soft files as well. Save them all to disc, this way when you need to reinstall you PC or the game just run the exe, add the trymedia file to its original location then double click on the registry files & they will self install. (Just in case any thinks they can NO! it does not work on any other PC apart from the one the game was originally installed to)

Thanks for advice, it all seems very complicated for an OAP computer dummy though.

Never to old to learn new things Bill!! It keeps the grey matter working.
Just follow the instructions & you will be fine. Just don't delete the files from the registry!
