Double E's Cargo Method
The way I make cargos is very easy. Basically, all I do is rename all the files of an existing cargo and repaint it.
If you don't know how to skin please refer to "Double E's Skinning Method.
There are three main folders we will be working with.
Defs, makes, and materials.
Step one: Decide what your cargo is going to be.
We will make the cargo "Santa Claus"
Now choose what trailer your going to use.
We will use the dryvan.
Step two: Make a new folder.
You can put the folder anywhere you want but we will use the desktop for this tute.
Right click on your desktop and highlight new then folder and left click.
The words "new folder should be blinking. Type "Santa Claus" and hit enter. now go into this folder.
Leave this folder open and go to my documents, 18 WoS Pedal to the Metal.
Step three: Renaming the files in the Makes folder.
Open makes, trailer, dryvan, share.
You will see a bunch of files.
We will use Glass. Copy the files "glass.mat" and "glass.tobj" and paste them into the Santa Claus folder.
Now right click on one of the files and select "rename".
Type "santa" and hit enter. Now double click on it to open the file and delete the word glass and type the word santa.
Note: Do not hit enter. Just close and select yes at the prompt.
Do the same thing to the other file.
Step four: Add your skin to the trailer.
Paint your trailer and convert it back as "santa.dds"
put this dds into the "Santa Clause" folder.
Step 5: Making the first folder path for your cargo.
Open your "Santa Clause" folder if it's not. Now right click in an open area and select new, then folder.
Now type "share" and hit enter. Now cut and paste the three files into that share folder. Now make another folder and name it "dryvan". Put the share folder into that dryvan folder. Make another folder and name it "trailer". Put the dryvan folder into the trailer folder. Make another folder and name it "makes". Now put the trailer folder into the makes folder.
You have just made a "folder path". It should open as follows: makes, trailer, dryvan, share. And you should see your three files in there.
Step 6: Renaming the files in the Materials folder.
Open my documents, 18 WoS Pedal to the Metal, materials, ui, cargo. you will see a bunch of files.
Copy the three files shown in the next picture and paste them into you're "Santa Claus" folder.
Now rename the files just like you did with the files for the makes folder in step two.
Now open you're paint program and find a pic that you want to use for you're cargo icon. Then click on file, then select "new" and it will ask you for a size. Make it 64x64
Now resize you're pic so it will just fit in the new 64x64 window. Copy and paste as new image into the 64x64 window and fill in with paint as needed. Now click on file and select "save as" and name it santa and select png so it reads "santa.png" and put it in you're "Santa Claus" folder.
Now for another folder path. Make a new folder and name it "cargo"
Put the 4 new "santa" files into the "cargo" folder. Now make a new folder and name it "ui". Put the cargo folder in the ui folder. And another folder named materials. put the ui folder in there. You're new folder path should be: materials, ui, cargo. And you should see the 4 files in there.
Step 7: The defs folder.
Open my documents, 18 WoS Pedal to the Metal, defs, cargos. You will see all the cargo files. Find the glass.def.
Now copy and paste it into the "Santa Claus" folder. Rename it "santa.def" and open it. Now change it as shown in the next pic.
Note: You have to delete the variant number as it will be changed. The "readme" file will explain this.
Folder Path. Make a new folder and name it "cargos". Now put the "santa.def" file in there. Now a new folder "defs". Put the "cargos" folder in there. You're folder path should be: defs, cargos and you should see the "santa.def" file in there.
Now in you're "Santa Clause" folder you should see 3 folders: defs, makes, and materials.
Make a new folder and name it "18 WoS Pedal to the Metal" and put those 3 folders in there.
Thats almost it. All you need now is a "readme" file.
I will show you what I use but you can change it as long as the instructions are the same.

1. Open notepad and select "all files" at the bottom. Click on - my documents/18 WoS Pedal to the Metal/makes/trailer/dryvan/base/desc.def and add new cargo to the end of all three mat lines:
