I have been trying to re skin one of the trailers on ETS. namely; eurogoodies skin i have followed a tutorial i found on eurotrucksimulator.org. I have looked for others everywhere. im able to get it all done right up until im saving it. i save it as DDS DXT5 so its in the file (not mod file) i made a file on my desktop to keep the files. so its in there and i right click on it and add to archive. i change it from .rar to zip file and comression metgod to store, and change name to mymod.scs. i go to my game, start a new one and go to eurogoodies. i check all the different types of trailers and none have it. i have a theory but im not sure whether its true or not so if anyone could shed some light on it id be thankful. Apparently DXTbmp donnae work on vista properly. it puts the saves into a temporary folder in vista somewhere, not sure where, then when i want to load to check it, it knows that thats not the file i want therefore it goes to te temporary folder where it saved it and gets it from there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all TDM

Using my old PC with XP at the moment as my Laptop with Vista has packed up again & for the life of me i cannot remember where it stores the temp files. So probably another 6 months with SONY before i get it back. (They must be the slowest at repairs in the world) 2nd time this expensive pile of crap has stopped working for absolutley no reason.

on a modding front, i think xp is better. i had the files once but never really thought much of it as didnae have ETS. Our laptop is a compaq made by HP so been good so far. my cousin had a sony vaio from last november. broke on him 3 times in first 2 months 2nd and 3rd both just shut down the laptop and didnt let it turn on. sony deffo aint quickest on repairs. (not ps3 aniway) oh well. lol lataer TDM

Mine froze, so usual ctrl alt & delete but nothing happened so left for an hour to sort it self out then manually shut it down with the power button, refused to start after that, i get the VAIO screen but nothing else tried ctrl, alt & F4 to access the restore but nothing doing just dead. Never again, they look great & well spec'd (for the price it should be) but i have heard of so many people having problems with them (why did i not know them before i bought 1?) & all complain about the very slow customer service (joke ha ha £118 to pick up & inspect thats before they tell you if they will fix it under warranty)
